Hi,
The postgresql server is crashing. I'm now logging
all SQL statements so please crash it again. That
way I'll be able to tell what's breaking.
(It crashed again. I've restarted it again.)
I'm too tired to think much now so will pick up in the
morning.
The trouble is that the system's running out of RAM.
Probably, between PostgreSQL and Apache it's asking
for too much RAM and I need to adjust downward
some configuration or another.
Someone is probably running a SQL statement that
is wrong and returns a kajillion rows. This should
not crash the server so please do it again.
Then I can tell you what's wrong with your statement
_and_ fix the server so it does not crash.
If you suspect you're the one crashing the server
please write me or, even better, the babase at eeblistserv.princeton.edu
mailing list with your SQL.
If PostgreSQL crashes again I won't be restarting
it until morning so please be patient.
