Hi Karl,

I have just started testing the 07B update, and I decided to try
th potentially most complcated data first, and found my expectation to
be correct. For some reason I am getting an error of 'ERROR: Cannot find
supergroup of group 2.00 on 1979-11-01: group 2.00 has no supergroup
before 1980-07-01.' I looked at the groups table, and the start date for
the group is in 1966, but the 'permanent' date is '1980-07-01'. The
documentation for the groups table says

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

        Permanent

This column contains the date the group became a permanent, regular
group, or contains NULL if it has not and is a temporary sub-group.

      Note

Permanent primarily affects whether or not an individual can be censused
only in a sub-group and still be ranked in the parent supergroup. See
RANKS <https://papio.biology.duke.edu/babase_system_html/ch04s01.html>
and supergroup()
<https://papio.biology.duke.edu/babase_system_html/re05.html> for
further information.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so, how can we enter these ranks for the late 70's with the restriction
that supergroups don't count until the group is permanent. It seems
maybe this is a discussion to involve Jeanne and Susan in as it seems
like it might involve a change in restrictions. What do you think?

Thanks
Lacey
