Hunter is making unix accounts as per Susan's
request.
I'll make database accounts for folks as soon as I get to
it.
I am no longer waiting on Hunter.

Duke uses yum
I don't want to hear any complaints about that - it wasn't MY doing.

Thats what is installed at the moment. Our general policy is "you get
what is part of the standard distro".
I have already downloaded post 7.4 (from fc2) and will see about
rebuilding it.
The general policy there is 'I will try, and a quick rebuild is sometime
possible- if that quick rebuild doesn't work, you have /usr/local/src'
I've installed postgres 7.3, httpd, turned both on, configured them to
store all their _data_ in /local, turned on the backups of /local, and
changed ownership to alblab.
To give your site a "face" I've done a partial copy of the lab web pages
to /local/www/.
Database:
Config files and "raw" data is in /var/lib/pgsql/data
Backups are in /local/database, done once per day.
Web:
Config files in /etc/httpd
Data is in /local/www
Syslog:
Stored in /local/syslog - let me know what perms if any need changing
Local installs:
/usr/local is now a symlink to /local/usr_local (unfortunate name)
I went ahead and changed ownership of the web and /usr/local area, so no
sudo access is required there at all.
I'll get those other accounts created in a moment.
Please forward this to the other babase people - my email to the list
bounced.
