[Babase] follow up on yesterday's conference call

I kept thinking about it on the way home. I am creating two different new
versions of demog notes for your examination. I am using Viola's 2009 data
as an example. Included will be a possible format for the index files,
filled in with Viola's 2009 data.

On BIL to AMO, I think getting him linked to the correct pid should be the
only sticky part. It might even require removal of certain checks
temporarily while we delete the pid from BIL and add it to AMO. I'm
thinking it probably can't be done with them all in place.

Subject: [Babase] follow up on yesterday's conference call

Hi all,

Lacey and I are having a meeting and she raised the fact that she,
like Niki and Catherine, has often felt the need to pull data out of
the "demography notes" section of the field data the first time she
goes through them (thinking to herself, oh yes someone is going to
need this) and so we both really want to thank Niki and Catherine for
raising this. It will really help the problem of reinventing the
wheel, and we both feel that it is a very good use of time over all to
pull the data out the first time in some way.

I also realized that I am not totally sure how we are going to go
forward. I think what we agreed is that Niki will, for a few years
worth of data, pull out all the potential incidents that would be
indexed (in an excel file?) and then we revisit (in a month? a couple
of weeks?) and start categorizing and prioritizing these data types
into "missed data in existing categories", "potentially useful
information some day but we don't yet know how we would use it", and
finally "probably don't bother entering."

is that about right?

Thanks again,

Susan
