Karl,

There is something screwy still happening with UPLOAD. (UPCEN seems to
be OK. I logged in at 8:05 and tried it again at 8:43 but didn't get
any login error messges.)

UPLOAD is the one that is giving me problems. I was using it just
before I tried the UPCEN upload at 8:43 (so let's say 8:40 for the sake
of argument). I fiddled with some updates and then went back to UPLOAD
at 8:56 (after about 16 minutes).

I browsed, selected a file, and tried to upload but got:
/Login failed./ Is the database, user, and password correct?

I don't think I got bumped all the way back to the login window, but the
interface windows in both are so similar, its hard to tell.

I browsed again from the same window, got the same file, and hit the
upload button. The login failure had reset the database to babase_test
so my file generated an error message about a duplicate date (absolutely
true because I had already uploaded this file to babase_test). However,
it took the file the second time without generating a login error
message and without me changing anything about the database, user, or
password info. I only browsed and reloaded the file.

Hope that helps. I can work around this, knowing its a pitfall, so
don't spend too much time on it. However, if it is a relatively easy
fix, it would be good to remove this obstacle. There are enough things
that have to function in a quirky fashion, which we have no choice about
changing.
