[Babase] Foxpro update statement question

Goodmorning,

I am struggling with some SQL and could use some help:

Some of the old census data from Alto's group is being entered by
Susan's assistant, and this morning, she came across an error that
manifested itself before her time here. From the period of April 19
1984 to August 31, 1989, an individual with sname VOI was entered (in
these sheets) as VOL. An individual with sname VOL was born in 09-1989
which illuminated the issue. These dbf's she is working on don't affect
Babase, and aren't linked to it. They are simply being saved as seperate
files for each month of each year by group on a local folder here at
duke. The information is correct within babase. However, in order to
correct the sname of VOI to VOI and not VOL for the period 04-19-1984 to
08-31-1989, I was thinking there must be some update statement that can
be used to quickly change it. But what I am not sure of is how to
update all of those dbfs, (65 of them) at one time. Karl, Leah, Tabby,
anyone out there who may know... is there a statement that will do
this? My training with foxpro has intentionally been minimal. Here is
what I came up with so far though, if it was even on the right track.

UPDATE (something);

       SET sname = "VOI"

           WHERE sname = "VOL"

        AND DATE Between "1984-04-19" and "1989-08-31";

the naming convention for these files is ANMMYY

A for Altos, N for census, just like the others.

If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much :)

Lacey
