Are you qualifying the column names with the table name and the
table name with the schema name?  There may be another table
with the same name in another schema that's confusing it.
There's a "search path", but I forget what it's called.
If you're using the ppa sql popup window it's in the window
somewhere.

Do you have any upper case in the column names?
If so you may need to enclose
the names of the columns in single quotes 'tablename.colname' or
just 'colname'.  Using upper case is not a good idea.
