[Babase] members problem with recent demog update

Hi all (but especially Karl),
We just finished the demography update for the first half of 04, and in
checking some of the comings and goings in Omo's group, I noticed a
problem with Dagger. He was missing a line in Members that he should
have had (just didn't have a line for a particular date). Here is the
context:
Jun 14: DAG was censused present in Viola's
Jun 15: DAG was censused present in Omo's, censused absent in Viola's,
and also had a demog. note putting him in Omo's
Jun 16: DAG was censused present in Viola's again
When we looked at DAG's records in Members, he had no line for Jun 15 -
it just went from Jun 14 to Jun 16 (both in Viola's). It was acting as
if the only information it had was the information from Viola's census -
an absence on the 15th just wouldn't get a line in Members if there was
no information putting him somewhere else that day (which there was, but
it was acting like there wasn't). So we tried to figure out the pattern
of why this happened, but couldn't - we checked other individuals who
had a presence in one group, a demog. note confirming that presence, and
an absence from another group all on the same day (just like Dagger on
the 15th), but they were fine in Members. So then I thought to run
Reinterp on Dagger, and that fixed the problem for him - he now has a
line in Members putting him in Omo's on Jun 15, as he should. But
without knowing the underlying cause of why it happened, we don't know
who else we need to run Reinterp on...
Karl, can you look at the Members-building program and see if you can
understand why this happened? My only thought is that it had to do with
the specific order in which we updated the census files and demog note
files for the different groups. Is my understanding correct that, in
the new system, Reinterp will happen automatically (but how often?
constantly?), so this won't be an issue? But any thoughts on fixing
this in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Daphne
