I just tried the first option with firefox and it seemed
to work just fine. I suppose it could be a safari problem
or it could be something else. Another way to do the first
option is to run the query you want to download
and when the results show up
on the screen go to the bottom of the page and press the
"download" link. That way you can see that the query actually
worked before going on to the download part.
I'd be interested in knowing where we have a problem.
I recall seeing the "ball" keep spinning after running
a query even after the results all showed up on the
screen. I don't recall whether this was with safari or not
but it could be related to a problem "finishing" the download.
