Jeanne and Susan,

I'm thinking we'll be wanting to upgrade the operating
system on papio so that we can keep up with the
development occuring on the phpPgAdmin front-end.
If we don't do this then, probably before the end of
the year, we won't be able use the latest phpPgAdmin
front-end and so won't be able to customize it any
further. (Of course eventually we will upgrade
the OS. Hunter will have a better feeling for the
schedule but I'd suspect it'd happen anyway before
the end of 2008.)

It will mean a little bit of downtime. I'd imagine not
more than a day.

I don't know whether Hunter will
want to upgrade the database (postgresql) or whether
he'll leave that to me. (Some database upgrades require
all the data be dumped and then restored into the new
database and we are doing some things, like using the
C locale (the ASCII character set) that may not be
part of the "stock" postgresql database cluster.
I've docs, but Hunter may not wish to deal with
this aspect of the upgrade.) So, if I'm involved
there is at least some monetary cost as well.
