Right. Or at least you won't need to use it if you're inside
the Duke (biology?) firewall. If you're traveling or otherwise outside
of the Duke firewall then you'll need the VPN.
In other words, the Duke folk probably won't need it but you'd
have to ask somebody at Duke IT support if you've questions
about just when you're outside the Duke firewall.

Perhaps the most flexable approach is for
both parties to get the copyright, Tyler and
the project. Each can then do whatever they want, and can't
prevent the other from doing whatever they want.
(Note that some schools (UIUC) require students to sign
over all their work to the university as part of the
terms of their enrollment, for any work done while
they are enrolled. IMO this bites. Dunno
the Duke policy.)
