[Babase] Matured BY dates for females

Thanks Catherine. All of this was clear except one comment that I've  
asked about below.

Are you saying that you found females in the database that had  
maturity dates coresponding to 178 days before their first birth? Or  
are you saying that this was the method you used to assign "by" dates  
to females that were known to have matured but at an unknown date? In  
other words, are you saying that the rule for assigning a "by" date  
to a female was (1) if she was known to have at least one pregnancy  
and (2) we don't know her exact menarche date, then (3) she was given  
a by date coresponding to 178 days before the birth o9f the first  
known offspring?
