You're probably better off not having a bioid column.  That'll
ensure that the system comes up with it's own bioid.  There's
ways, I don't recall exactly what, to have empty mean NULL mean
the system gets to make one up but having no column at all
is easiest.

That error means to me that you've a empty ("") bstatus data
value.  It's telling you that empty is not a number.
