[Babase] Problem with Unix Access

Hi All,

Well, I just tried to get started on restoring babase_test, and got
messages saying 'Permission Denied' for the group 'babase'. I went and
spoke to Hunter and the group ownership was just incorrectly assigned,
which was a quick, easy fix. However, we sort of opened a can of worms.
Since they changed the system over, there is now validation between the
unix accounts and the biology user accounts... meaning that each user on
Unix has to have a biology user account too. For Duke users, this is
easy, as we already have one. But it is slightly more complicated for
the external people, as there has to be some checking against already
allocated user names, and there are other decisions that need to be
made. The IT team is in the middle of some web server updates scheduled
to finish on Thursday. So I will go back to Hunter on Friday morning to
remind him of this issue and to continue making progress with it, but
until then, Susan and I are the only ones who will have access to papio.
I will be restoring babase_test now, (I have access now) and if it needs
to be done again for any reason before friday, please just let me know.

Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience!
Lacey
