Hi Karl,
I'm up to the W's and have a question for you about Wegner's
interpolation after his birth. This one is a bit funny to explain
because the weird interpolation brought it to our attention that his
birth was entered incorrectly (one day off). But, for the sake of
pointing out the interpolation question, I'll explain it anyway...
Up until just a few minutes ago, Wegner's birthday was entered in
BIOGRAPH as 2 February 2005. His matgrp, Weaver's, was censused this
day and he was marked absent. The next group census was on 5 February
2005 and he was marked present.
His first few rows in the new MEMBERS table looked like this:
WEG 2005-02-02 2.20 I 0
WEG 2005-02-03 9.00 I 1
WEG 2005-02-04 2.20 I 1
WEG 2005-02-05 2.20 C 0
WEG 2005-02-06 2.20 I 1
The placement in Group 9 when he was 1 day old is odd and separates him
from his mother, Wobble, who is interpolated present in Weaver's group
that day.
My guess is that the root of the trouble is the fact that WEG was born
on a day when he was absent on the group census. (Again, for this
particular case, we sorted it out because WEG's correct birthday is 3
February 2005.)
Is this an issue for the interpolation rules?
Thanks,
Catherine
