Whoops. Cathrine, you are sending html-only email.  (You are

text I have to cut-and-paste your text to reply.  (Also, it does
not archive very well.  If you go look at your mail in the
archives you'll see what I mean.)

On foxpro the demography note validation program should check
for this condition and complain.  Likewise the census validation
program.  If the tables were ever updated manually (or there's
a bug, as always) then anything goes.

(FWIW, I forget the details but it should be clear from the
documentation how you can tell your various scenarios apart
after the data has been entered
by looking at the CENSUS.Status and CENSUS.Cen columns.  Not
that you asked about that but it would be good to know whether
what we have is clear.)
